Well I chose Nathan's ability to fly and it's not just because he's my favourite character! There is just something about flying that intrinsically calls to man. You don't often hear people saying they dreamt they could teleport right? Often people dream of flying because it feels like such an expression of freedom! Except in Nathan's case he feels as if it's his cage :(

*nods* Milo said something similar to that, which was probably what prompted me to start this poll in the first place. A lot of people dream of flying, and I think you are right - it's a representation of freedom.

Poor Nathan though :( *hugz him* I'd like to see the moment where he realises he can do something good with the ability.

I agree, it feels so sad that he thinks of his ability as useless. I like it more when he is dreaming of soaring over deserts :D

I'd take telekinesis and not because I wanna be a watch geek or bad guy :P But I don't think my motivation needs any explanation with all the roleplaying we've been in together ;)

LOL I think I know who that could be *points to icon*

I still wonder if he has a "fixing (in a rather demented way) what is broken" power... but I guess I'll have to wait on that one.
30th-Nov-2006 09:12 am (UTC)
Sylar? Nah he just stole the power from Brian Davies, who as we saw in the last episode, moved items with his mind (what he moved was not broken) and what I have been assuming so far is that Sylar gains the power of everyone he killes and thus he has more than 'just' the above mentioned telekinesis. And you were close, I was referring to P.J. :P

I choose Claire's. I so want to be invicible, but Hiro's were a close one. To be everywhere you want at anytime. And sometimes I wish I can stop time in class, coz' my teachers are boring lol

(from ninth_wonders) Just imagine the possibilities! I like that it's understated and I would love to be able to retain all of that information. She's like if Google sprouted legs and grew red hair!!!

Call me a little off (many people do, you know), but I'd rather not have a power at all, thankyouverymuch. :)
30th-Nov-2006 11:44 pm (UTC)
haha I don't think that's wrong at all. There's many negative things that come along with those powers too *nods* And it's not a strange option, hence why I've included it ;) Thanx for taking the poll :D

Not sure he's changing his DNA, but maybe. I think his power is to see what's "broken" meaning non-standard and then to replicate that "problem" ... and I wonder if he can do it to others and not just himself.
30th-Nov-2006 11:29 pm (UTC)
aha! I wondered the very same thing. I don't think he's tracking these people down via Suresh's list (unless Eden really DID get Claire's name removed cause he didn't know who she was - he still went after Jackie), and I didn't think he was being completely random about it. He went after Charlie and there was something "wrong" with her he could "fix", and he went after Claire who had a "genetic disorder" (or something along those lines) when she was younger, so I'm thinking he can detect flaws in things *nods* That was me trying to get down to the root of his ability also. Unless we do just go the simplified version and say no, he was misdiagnosed, he doesn't have any ability and he's just evil and random - though I think the writers are much too smart for that ;)
30th-Nov-2006 05:21 pm (UTC)
I think you should credit the telekinesis to the guy sylar got it from, THEN mention Sylar. Cuz Sylar's own power is to "fix things".
30th-Nov-2006 11:35 pm (UTC)
I've credited Sylar with telekinesis cause he does have the power and he's used it many times on the show. It's his prominent power as far as we can tell, nobody has actually stated what his true ability is (or if he has one at all - we're all just clutching at straws).

Besides, I had no more room to list another person. The poll only allowed for that many options, hence why everyone got squished together at the end ;)

But would you really be justified in doing that? Removing people's free wills "for the greater good"? It sounds like a very ethically questionable power.

I guess I just wouldn't like having a power that can only ever be the lesser of two evils. I wouldn't want the responsibility of having to go solve genocides either, no matter how noble a goal it is. I'm more into the idea of being able to get myself a glass of water without leaving my bed, and other things of that sort. ;)

I just had to choose Nathan's ability to fly because that was so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember being like this when I saw it for the first time *mouth drops, arms flail, jumps up and down* plus I think it would be really cool to soar above the world like a bird...though Hiro and Eden's powers come a close second...
1st-Dec-2006 04:40 am (UTC)
i'd want hiro and charlie's power. hiro because i'd like to stop time during embarrassing moments or when i'm cramming homework. plus, it be nice to travel to places and see family and friends abroad for free! charlie because it would be useful for school and just about any job and for learning new languages, which I would love to do.

watch the movie, eragon on dec. 15!

I picked dreamwalking, I think that would be such a cool power! I have such interesting dreams, it would be fun to visit other people in their sleep
5th-Dec-2006 04:34 am (UTC)
Eden's power was awesome but I would never survive the temptation and would go all dark phoenix with it in a matter of days. So I went with Nikki. There is something elegant and straight forward about bench pressing a buik (and one more personality would just keep the others company.)
5th-Dec-2006 07:34 am (UTC)
It was a tough choice with flying, tech, and memory as options, but in the end I'd have to say that telekinesis is just so damn practical. Plus, I think we've seen that semi-flight can also be achieved with that power. Of course, there's also the option of just generally being smart, hot, and all-round awesome like Mohinder, but this was a question of powers, not identities.

You forgot whasisface with the radiation, btw.
5th-Dec-2006 07:48 am (UTC)
Oh oops LOL :$ Poor Ted. Thanx for telling me. Unfortunately LJ wouldn't give me any more options so all the normal ppl got squished at the end, and I probably would have left them out altogether if I remembered him. I did want to give Mohinder a seperate entry for being knowledgable but, yeah, not enough buttons :(
